Nick French is a Professor in Real Estate and Montagu Evans Fellow in Commercial Real Estate at Oxford Brookes University. Nick is a recognised expert in the area of property valuation and appraisal. He is the Professor of Real Estate at Oxford Brookes University in the UK and lectures extensively to the profession in the UK and across the world. In 2018, Nick was awarded the Montagu Evans Fellowship in Commercial Real Estate. In this role, Nick works closely with his colleagues at Montagu Evans in writing papers, presenting conference papers and developing a research agenda for the real estate profession. As a Research Professor, his research interests concentrate upon the interface of property legislation and regulation and its impact on value and valuation models. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has regularly serves on the various committees such as the UK Valuation Board and the Corporate Real Estate Strategy Group. He was also a member of the Professional Board of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC). Nick is the Editor of the Journal of Property Investment & Finance, the award winning academic international journal of the real estate industry. He has also written regularly for, The Estates Gazette. The European Journal of Real Estate Research, The Journal of Corporate Real Estate and other professional and academic journals. In recent years, he has won the RICS Prize for the Best Paper in Valuation and the Appraisal and the Appraisal Journal Prize for the Best Paper in Appraisal at European Real Estate Society Conferences.
